Introduction:
Endocrine disruptors (EDs) are substances or mixtures that alter one or more functions of the endocrine system and consequently cause adverse effects in an intact organism, its progeny, populations, or subpopulations. Great interest has risen in recent years on EDs given the increased consciousness on their human health toxicity as well as their toxicity for the environment.
With the adoption of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/2100 of 4 September 2017 the concept of endocrine disruptors became applicable and mandatory new and on-going applications for active substances and biocidal products.
The aim of this training event is to provide an overview of the regulatory aspects related to concept of ED properties in the Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 with a focus on the conduction of the ED assessment for the biocidal products.
