The national competent authority, the Italian Ministry of Health, has prepared the control activities plan on chemical products to verify REACH and CLP Regulation implementation at territorial level for 2024.
As part of the control activities, supervision on disinfectants, sanitizers, and cleaning products, along with their raw materials, will continue. Additionally, inspections on imported products and products subject to other regulations, such as the POP Regulation, BPR, PPP, fertilizers, the RoHS Directive, and the Toy Directive, will be intensified. Special attention is given to products intended for use by consumers (e.g., detergents, especially those sold unpackaged, cleaning products, dishwasher tabs, laundry products, tattoo mixtures, glues, etc.) and products sold online. The controls will also cover hot topics regarding substances in authorization or restriction list, widely used in industrial processes in the territory (e.g., chromates, diisocyanates, N,N-dimethylformamide) and substances, mixtures, and articles recovered from waste. Among the objectives of the inspections is also the verification of compliance with SCIP notification and communication obligations for SVHC substances contained in articles.
