Some dates not to forget, to be ready for regulatory challenges.
Several regulatory deadlines are scheduled for 2020, with particularly significant ones related to the CLP Regulation. Below is a brief overview:
- May 1, 2020: entry into force of the 13th ATP (Regulation 2018/1480) of the CLP Regulation, which will amend Annex VI of CLP by introducing new harmonised classifications or modifying existing ones
- May 9, 2020: entry into force of REACH restriction number 71 concerning 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP)
- July 4, 2020: entry into force of REACH restriction number 70 concerning perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and its salts
- October 17, 2020: entry into force of the 12th ATP (Regulation 2019/521) of the CLP Regulation; this ATP aims to align the CLP with revisions 6 and 7 of the GHS (Globally Harmonized System)
- November 1, 2020: entry into force of REACH restriction number 72 concerning certain CMR substances in textile products
Looking ahead to 2021, it is important to note that on January 1st, as set out in Annex VIII of the CLP Regulation, the first notification deadline will apply for mixtures intended for professional and consumer use.
