On 23 April 2026, Germany notified ECHA of its intention to propose a restriction on bisphenols with endocrine-disrupting properties for the environment and their salts.
The future restriction will target applications associated with significant emission potential, including:
- leather tanning and leather articles;
- textile finishing agents and textile articles;
- thermal paper;
- PVC articles and mixtures.
The restriction proposal is expected by 12 March 2027 and may have significant implications for several industrial sectors and European supply chains.
