On 11 July 2022, the Directorate General for Medical Devices and Pharmaceutical Services published on the Ministry of Health website the Annual National Control Plan, approved on 21 February 2021, entitled “Regulation on the methods of conducting controls on biocidal products placed on the market, in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 528/2012 concerning the making available on the market and use of biocidal products.”
The main strategic objectives identified by the Plan are:
- protecting the health of the end user of biocidal products by verifying product compliance with regulations
- combating fraudulent and illegal practices potentially harmful to consumer health, also through national and international cooperation among the bodies involved in control processes
- specific compliance checks on disinfectant products
- harmonisation with the control procedures defined at the European level.
