The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has recently published revised guidelines for assessing confidentiality claims for biocides, dated November 2024.
The proper assessment of the confidentiality of the information contained in the Assessment Report (AR) and Product Assessment Report (PAR) is important to ensure the correct dissemination of information on active substances and biocidal products.
These guidelines help competent authorities in assessing the confidentiality of the information in the application dossiers and offer an approach that aims to support harmonisation across different authorities.
The document will be reviewed based on practical experience.
