Following the commitment on the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability, the Commission has launched an initiative which aims at prohibiting the import and/or export of certain hazardous chemicals that are banned in the EU.
The Commission will prepare an impact assessment and an evaluation of Regulation (EU) No 649/2012 concerning the export and import of hazardous chemicals and is therefore launching in parallel a consultation to gather more information and inputs. The consultation will include a Call for Evidence and a Public Consultation, available here.
