The restriction proposal for the placing on the market and reuse of treated articles with creosote or creosote-related substances is expected by 7 October 2022. France has already submitted to ECHA an intention of restriction for the substance.
In June 2022, ECHA’s committees for Risk Assessment (RAC) and Socio-economic Analysis (SEAC) concluded that an earlier proposal for the same substances, submitted by France in February 2022, did not fulfil the requirements for a restriction report laid down in Annex XV of REACH.
