At the meeting of the Standing Committee on Residues on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed, section dedicated to pesticide residues, which was held by video conference on February 1 and 2, 2024, the following draft Regulations were voted on, which, will be transposed shortly into respective regulations published in the Official Journal of the European Union, which will amend Annexes II, III and V of Regulation (EC) No. 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to maximum residue limits (MRLs) of certain active substances, including:
- deltamethrin, metalaxyl, thiabendazole, and trifloxystrobin (Document PLAN/2023/326 Rev.4 providing for MRL lowerings and confirmations on different food matrices).
We remind enterprises that:
- they are invited to submit to the Direzione generale per l’igiene e la sicurezza degli alimenti e la nutrizione (DGSAN – Ufficio VII) from the date of receipt of the note February 8, 2024 (note), until the maximum deadline of 10 days after the publication in the Official Journal of the European Union of the enacting Regulations, the application for adjustment for their plant protection products using the appropriate application form and all the documentation listed in the procedure (e.g. residue tests in GLP, GAP sheets for impacted crops only, etc.);
- the adjustment requirement for national authorizations extends to all plant protection products based on the impacted active substances, authorized on uses for which there are reductions in MRL values and/or changes in residue definition;
- the fee is as stipulated in the Ministerial Decree of September 28, 2012, with payment to be made through the PagoPA platform as indicated on the relevant service sheet available at the link in the note.
