The 2025 Plan, prepared by the Ministry of Health, aims to ensure chemical safety in compliance with the essential levels of care (D.P.C.M. January 12, 2017) and the objectives of the National Prevention Plan 2020-2025.
In response to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, controls on disinfectants and sanitizers are confirmed to verify their composition, labelling, and safety. The plan supports the monitoring activities of the competent authorities, promotes inter-institutional cooperation, and includes the control of substances, mixtures, and online products (REF-13 ECHA project), as well as the verification of regulatory compliance (REACH, POPs, RoHS, Toys Directive).
It also provides for participation in the ECHA pilot project for notifications to poison centres, along with collaboration with USMAF-SASN and customs for risk analysis.
Key activities include targeted inspections, analytical investigations, development of methodologies for inspections, and drafting of national reports on control activities.
