A new proposal to harmonise classification has been submitted for the biocidal active substance pyrithione zinc (zinc bis(1-oxidopyridin-1-ium-2-thiolate), CAS 13463-41-7; EC 236-671-3). The active substance is currently under initial application for approval in progress. The Swedish Competent Authority is responsible for the evaluation for the following Product Types (PTs):
- PT 6 – Preservatives for products during storage
- PT 7 – Film preservatives
- PT 9 – Fibre, leather, rubber and polymerised materials preservatives
- PT 21 – Antifouling products
