GUIDANCE DOCUMENT FOR THE GENERATION AND EVALUATION OF DATA ON THE PHYSICAL, CHEMICAL AND TECHNICAL PROPERTIES OF PLANT PROTECTION PRODUCTS UNDER REGULATION (EC) No 1107/2009 (SANCO/10473/2003-rev.6 20 January 2026)
The revision (rev.6) of the LG SANCO/10473/2003-rev.6 for the generation and evaluation of data on the physical, chemical and technical properties of Plant Protection Products under Regulation (EC) No.1107/2009 applies from 20 July 2026.
It reminds that safety related data concerning physical hazards should be tested according to the methods referred to in the Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. For explosive property, EC method A.14, could also be applicable. It should be noted that when an EC method gives a negative result, it is acceptable to assume that the same result will be obtained with a comparable UN test method. However, a positive result cannot be easily translated into a CLP classification, therefore a test according to a CLP method would be required.
For Relevant impurities that can increase upon manufacturing of the formulation but not upon storage – No data required after storage. Scientific justification why an increase can only occur upon formation but not upon storage is necessary.
Determination of active substance content using a validated analytical method in samples taken at the beginning, middle and end of spraying operation at highest and lowest use rates on the label is recommended where preparations are found outside suspensibility, spontaneity, dispersion stability, emulsifiability tests limits.
