The European Council has announced the adoption of the new proposal to revise the Regulation on the classification, labelling, and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP).
This legislative act will no longer undergo content review and will soon be published in the Official Gazette. It will come into effect 20 days after its publication.
The key updates include:
- New labelling requirements related to minimum font size and background colour, which must be white
- The introduction of an initial approach to digital labelling
- New provisions for consumer chemical refill stations
- Requirements for distance selling (including online) and advertising of products classified as hazardous
These updates, along with other changes in the revision and the hazard classifications introduced by Reg. 2023/707, present new challenges for achieving regulatory compliance.
We encourage companies to review the proposed revision. For any clarification, do not hesitate to contact TEAM mastery.
