At its latest meeting, SEAC reached a consensus on the draft opinion regarding the proposed REACH restriction on certain Chromium(VI) oxides, oxyacids, and salts. The agreed text will undergo final editorial revisions before the Secretariat launches a 60-day third-party consultation on 17 June 2026. Stakeholders are invited to submit additional comments by 17 August 2026. Following an extension of the opinion preparation timeline under Article 71(3) of REACH, the final SEAC opinion is now expected to be adopted at SEAC-73. Companies using or placing Chromium(VI) substances on the EU market should closely monitor the consultation process and assess the potential regulatory implications for their products and supply chains.
