The Italian Ministry of Health has published the “Piano Nazionale dei Controlli Ufficiali sui Biocidi (PNCB)” for 2026, developed in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 528/2012 (BPR). The Plan sets out the framework for official controls on biocidal products and treated articles placed on the Italian market, aiming to ensure a structured system of checks across the entire supply chain.
An intensification of inspection activities is planned, with increased coordination with REACH/CLP enforcement controls.
In particular, inspections will focus on the compliance of biocidal products and treated articles placed on the market or made available on the market, with the requirements of the authorisation/registration, the Biocidal Product Characteristics Summary (SPC), labelling and classification, packaging, and the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).”
