The Netherlands and Austria are preparing an Annex XV Restriction Dossier under REACH concerning certain phenyl-p-phenylenediamines (PPDs) and para-substituted phenylenediamines (PDs) used as anti-oxidants and anti-ozonants in rubber tyres.
A call for evidence has been launched to gather information on their technical function in rubber tyres, (eco)toxicological properties, environmental fate, possible alternatives, and related socio-economic impacts.
Stakeholders across the value chain, both within and outside the EU/EEA, are invited to submit relevant data. Contributions, including confidential information, will support the preparation of the restriction proposal.
