An important regulatory change is coming for companies submitting C&L notifications under the CLP Regulation.
With the entry into application of Regulation (EU) 2024/2865, from 1 July 2026 ECHA will also make publicly available the names of companies listed as notifiers in the Classification and Labelling (C&L) Inventory.
The publication will concern the identity of entities submitting C&L notifications, including group notifiers. However, companies may request confidentiality of this information if they can properly justify a potential impact on their commercial interests.
In light of this regulatory update, companies are advised to:
- review previously submitted C&L notifications;
- update any outdated or inaccurate information;
- assess whether a confidentiality request should be submitted before July 2026.
If you wish to keep your company name confidential in an existing C&L notification, you must update your notification with a confidentiality request and submit it before 30 June 2026 (midnight Helsinki time).
