On October 23rd, from 9:30 am, our Ilaria Geremia will hold a speech within the Polymer Academy, entitled: “Microplastics in paints and coatings: how to be compliant?”.
Our colleague will once again address the issue of microplastics, setting out the criteria for defining them as such. More specifically, the Restriction released in October 2023 will be discussed, which aims to prevent the release of about half a million tons of microplastics into the environment, helping to reduce microplastic pollution by 30% by 2030. This is a regulation that will have a significant impact on chemical industries, which will have to find environmentally friendly alternatives to the microplastics currently added to their products or will have to comply with regulatory obligations. In particular, we will discuss paints and coatings, thus deepening how much the Restriction will impact this area.
