Under the Review Programme for existing biocidal active substances, the European Commission has approved the following substances, with approval starting on 1 June 2027:
- Formaldehyde released from the reaction products of paraformaldehyde and 2-hydroxypropylamine (ratio 3:2) for product-types 2, 6, 11, 12, and 13.
- Formaldehyde released from the reaction products of paraformaldehyde and 2-hydroxypropylamine (ratio 1:1) for product-types 2, 11, and 13.
Both active substances are candidates for substitution. For this reason, the approval will last 5 years, expiring on 31 May 2032.
The Commission has also decided not to renew the approval of the active substance etofenprox in product-types 8 and 18, and consequently to repeal the extension of its approvals.
