On 2 February 2026, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) launched a public consultation on its draft proposal to include four substances in the REACH Authorisation List. Stakeholders have time until 2 May 2026 to submit comments.

The substances concerned are:

  • Bumetrizole (UV-326): (EC 223-445-4)
  • 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4- (1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl) phenol (UV-329): (EC 221-573-5)
  • Triphenyl phosphate: (EC 204-112-2)
  • 2-(dimethylamino)-2-[(4-methylphenyl)methyl]-1-[4-(morpholin-4-yl)phenyl]butan-1-one: (EC 438-340-0)

If added to the Authorisation List, these substances may no longer be used or placed on the market after a set sunset date unless a specific authorisation is granted. ECHA is looking for updated information on uses, volumes, possible exemptions and supply chain impacts.
