Introduction:
To place a cosmetic product on the market, companies must comply with Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 on Cosmetic Products, which aims to ensure the safety of the products and their ingredients for human health. Testing of cosmetic products and their ingredients must be performed using alternative testing methods as animal tests are not allowed.
This course aims to provide basic knowledge of the Cosmetic Products Regulation and its interactions with the REACH and CLP Regulations. Additionally, some of the available alternative testing methods for the evaluation of cosmetic products will be presented.
