On December 23, 2022, the Decision (EU) 2022/2570, concerning the approval of the active substance silver nitrate (EC: 231-853-9; CAS: 7761-88-8), was published in the Official Journal. The adopted decision established the non-approval of the chemical as an active substance for use in biocidal products of product-type 7, or in other words as film preservative, according to Regulation (EU) n. 258/2012.
