After the implementation of the UK REACH, GB-based companies were allowed to carry across their EU REACH registrations directly into UK REACH. This is known as ‘grandfathering’ the registration.
The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) recently published the list of substances notified to HSE before 1 July 2021. The list is available to the public consultation at the GOV.UK website and chemical manufacturers and importers based in Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales) can use this list to plan a strategy to reach conformity according to the UK REACH regulation.
This list is not to be considered as exhaustive as it’s not a verified list of all the substances transferred to UK REACH, from EU REACH, according to Article 127A(1).
Substances with a transferred registration will not appear on the list if no initial transitional data was submitted and if those who submitted initial transitional data indicated that the information is confidential. Furthermore, the list may also include substances without transferred registrations if initial transitional data was submitted for that substance.
