Following the Board of Appeal (BoA) decision of June 29, 2021, that affects registration requirements for monomer and polymer importers and manufacturers, ECHA updated accordingly its monomer and polymer guidance. The main changes relate to:
- monomers that need to be registered by the manufacturer or importer of a polymer;
- the calculation of registration tonnages of monomers ending up in the final polymer as a reacted substance;
- the information that registrants of monomers must include in a registration chemical safety report (CSR).
We therefore encourage all importers and manufacturers of polymers and monomers to take a look at the updated guidance, available at this link, and review their registration dossiers, if needed, to make sure they are complying with these minimum requirements.
